Online service across all 50 states

What this service is
A tax-exempt organization doesn't pay income tax on its mission work, but it must file an annual information return with the IRS, the Form 990 series, and the return is public. Which form you file depends on size: the 990-N e-Postcard for organizations with gross receipts normally $50,000 or less, Form 990-EZ below $200,000 in receipts and $500,000 in assets, the full Form 990 above that, and Form 990-PF for every private foundation. We prepare the right return, file New York's CHAR500 with the Charities Bureau, report unrelated business income on Form 990-T, and set up the books so restricted funds and expenses are tracked the way the 990 asks.

What we actually do
Confirm exemption and filing history
Check that your exemption is current and every prior year was filed, so a missed year doesn't become a revocation.
Pick the right form
Apply the receipts and asset tests to decide between 990-N, 990-EZ, 990, or 990-PF.
Prepare the return and schedules
Complete revenue, functional expenses, programs, governance, compensation, and the schedules your activity triggers, such as public support (Schedule A) and donors (Schedule B).
Review with the board
Walk the board through the public disclosures before filing, many organizations' policies require it.
File New York CHAR500
File the annual charity report, attaching the CPA review or audit report required at your revenue level.
Report unrelated business income
Identify advertising, rental, or sales income outside the mission and file Form 990-T when gross UBI reaches $1,000.
