Reports we prepare

Profit & Loss

Revenue, cost of sales, expenses and net profit for the month and year to date, compared with last month or last year.

Balance Sheet

What the business owns and owes at month-end: cash, receivables, payables, loans and owner equity.

Cash flow statement

Why profit and cash differ: where cash came from and where it went.

General ledger

Every transaction behind every balance, for anyone who needs to dig in.

A/R and A/P aging

Who owes you, who you owe, and how long each balance has been open.

Expense analysis

Spending by category and vendor, with anything unusual flagged.

Trends

Revenue, margins and key expenses month over month, so changes are visible early.

Budget vs. actual

How the month compared with plan, when your engagement includes a budget.

What the reports are for

Running the business

See margins, cash and spending while there's still time to act on them.

Banks and lenders

Current, reconciled statements for loan applications and covenant reporting.

Partners and investors

A consistent monthly package that answers the same questions every time.

Tax planning

Real year-to-date profit for estimated taxes, owner pay and year-end moves.

Management reports, clearly labeled

The reports we prepare as part of bookkeeping are management reports. They are built from reconciled books and reviewed for consistency, and they are what you need to run the business and prepare your tax return.

They are not audited, reviewed or compiled financial statements. Those are separate engagements performed under professional standards; if a lender, landlord or investor asks for one, we'll explain the options on our audit readiness, reviews and compilations page.

Bookkeeping questions

Bookkeeping reports are management reports for running the business and preparing tax returns. They are not audited, reviewed or compiled financial statements; those are separate engagements.

Every package includes a Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet each month. Growth adds a monthly summary; Advanced adds A/R and A/P aging. Other reports can be added to your package.
